I considered entering the t-shirt contest, but I got lazy. Also, I think I'm becoming one of those silly This American Life fans since I've discovered they stream the episodes. I've listened to tons of it. Oh god.
I'm really fond of the coloring, although I do wish the blue had been more blue. But the lines are my favorite. I won't point out to you the things that annoy me, because, well, you'll just notice them.
Tribute to my favorite radio show and one of my favorite television shows. <3
Ahaha! A fellow studio-mate got me into that show (because of the web-stream). I've been listening to it on and off for a while now (hard to stop because there are sooo many) NPR is grand--its were I learned about FOUND magazine and tons of useless things. onto art things: wow, yeah, looks a lot like him. this is fantastic, the colors and everything. in a weird way it reminds me of The Science of Sleep as well.
but yeah, great job, ol' Ira needs some good fan art.
Thank you very much ! I tried to make it seem very This-American-Life-y, however you do that with my style, haha.
The TV show is good ! I mean, I may just like it because I get to see Ira laugh and talk, but the stories are really interesting to watch. It's not really that different than the radio show; the only true difference is the visual aid.
Thanks ! I did this around the time when I was watching the TV show a lot, so I totally fell in love with his big silly glasses and his mannerisms. I tried my hardest to capture his likeness, so thanks a lot for saying that !!
And I completely agree. Ira doesn't get nearly enough rep in the world. I guess I'll do my best to spread the love.
i looove that show! i stream the podcast every week.
this says digital art but i'd swear this was traditional. you have such a good sense of line, but actually what really makes this pic for me is the wood grain texture. awesome.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.

In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

I've never seen the TV show, though, I've only heard it on NPR.
